Breadfast Middle East Retail & Consumer Tech

Breadfast

Breadfast is an Egyptian online grocery delivery service that began in 2017, initially focusing on delivering freshly baked goods to customers’ doorsteps each morning. Over time, it has expanded its offerings to include a wide range of grocery items, household essentials, and personal care products, aiming to provide a comprehensive shopping experience.

Operating primarily in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, and other major cities, Breadfast utilizes a network of micro-fulfillment centers to ensure efficient and timely deliveries, often within 60 minutes. The company emphasizes freshness, with its baked goods, fruits, and vegetables prepared daily.

In November 2021, Breadfast secured $26 million in a Series A funding round led by Vostok New Ventures and Endure Capital, bringing its total investments to around $33 million. This funding has supported the company’s expansion plans, including entering new cities within Egypt and exploring markets in sub-Saharan Africa.

Breadfast’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has earned it recognition as a top company by Y Combinator, highlighting its significant impact in the MENA region. The company’s innovative approach and rapid growth have positioned it as a leader in the online grocery delivery sector in Egypt.
